I have found that the metal braces work much better for me than the plastic
ones. I have broken all of the plastic ones that I have tried and have gotten
many years of good service out of the metal braces. Another benefit of the
metal braces is that they are much cooler in hot weather. Plastic braces retain
the heat . My skin sticks to them too. I would think that your job outdoors
would
work much better with the metal braces as you will not always be on flat
ground. The rougher ground would be hard for plastic braces to deal with and
shouldn't be a problem with metal. Find yourself a good orthist who will build
your braces like you need and will modify the shoes and boots you want to
wear.
