I've just posted another picture in Andy's photos which gives a
better view of my new Adidas.

In answer to your question, neither of these shoes has a visible
build up on the sole. The left shoe however does have a 40mm lift
which is built in the form of a type of removable insole. It was made
specifically for these shoes but I have tried it in some other shoes
and it works quite well. It looks a bit better than my clumppy old
ortho boots which has the buildup on the bottom of the sole.
