When I was a child I had Polio. This happened 25 years ago when I
was just 2 years old. It all started one day when I was taking a
nap in the afternoon, I shouted out from my dream and immediately my
whole body got paralyzed. I couldn't do anything except lying
down. All my parents could do then was to pray. I was taken to the
hospital but all proved abortive.

As time goes on, my father went into fasting and prayer. As he was
praying on his kneels one day, he said he saw me in a trance walking
towards him, then he shouted my name. My mother came out and was
angry with him because he was shouting my name knowing that I was
lying on a sick bed. He told my mother everything he saw and I was
brought in. An amazing thing that no one could comprehend happened
that day, the body which was paralyzed got healed. Then he took me
in, sat me on a couch and asked me to dance to the gospel music he
was playing. So, I stood on my right leg and it got healed.

Since then I have been able to use my right leg effectively and
conveniently. After this little improvement, I crawled for seven
years. It was indeed a painful experience. I later started using
crutches under both arms to aid my movement. Later I was walking
with the aid of Calpas, a specially made shoe for the left leg alone
since I was able to use the right one.

I had an operation on my left leg in 1988 at Baptist Medical Center
Ogbomosho, Nigeria where I spent about two months on bed. I had
another major operation (triple one) on my right leg in 1992,
according to the specialist, to prevent the leg from twisting
backwards. Well, the operation was very severe, but the Lord took
absolute control.

Above it all, I am walking around comfortably now all by myself,
though with a brace of my left leg. The Lord conquered the devil
once again.

Despite all these, don't be surprise of what the Lord is doing
through me. Just like He said to Paul, my grace is sufficient for
you. There is nothing more glorious than serving the Lord. He gave
me the privilege to render praises and worship unto Him. He made my
inability an ability in His Vineyard. He made the devil a liar!

Just to summarize the whole thing. My healing also came from the
love of my families and friends who took me as one of their own, no
discrimination and I was able to fit in.

Though it's been 25 years now, but I'm starting to have some pains
all over my body - sometimes very severe and wouldn't know what to
do about. The worst case scenario is that I came into the States
from Nigeria 4 years ago, and since I have been in the State, I have
not been able to receive any medical treatment or theraphy because I
had no insurance. And all efforts to get medicare or med-aid had
resulted to nothing. So, I'm still hoping that miracle will still
come my way so I'll be able to still go for medical treatment and
possibly theraphy which might still improve my chances.

I believe and hope that this group will really be an inspiration for
me. I intend to start a foundation soon from here which will serve
as an awareness for Nigeria and to be able to see the positive side
of being a disable. I also believe this group will be a great help
for me towards that.
