I'm a polio survivor as well and know exactly how you feel about you feeling
like you are the only one to have polio and at such a young age. I am now 42 and
have lived with polio sense I was a child of 10, and I lived in the US all my
life, California infact, and to get such a disease in the united states was
unheard of not to mention weird knowing I had been vaccinated for them, but as
they say, even with the shots there's a way to get the disease. But I have a
small case as my doctors say, and I was quite lucky it only got my left lower
leg, as I have a drop foot and still wear a brace to keep me from tripping and
also to keep my ankle from breaking, it being weak and all. Well I just seen
this in my email and wanted to say hello to you. hope your search for a buddy

I'm F - 21. I had Polio when I was three and now wear a brace inside my right
shoe. I only know one person who had Polio but he's 50 or so. Not to many people
are age have it. But then again, I think it's rare for people our age to have
Polio in America. However I wasn't born here, I moved to the states when I was
three from Central America. So I've always felt I was only person my age to have
Polio. Did you ever feel that way?
Well I would love to keep on touch, but I live in Boston when I'm in school
and I know you want a buddie from NYC, but I just thought I would say hello
