Hey Theresa! :)
wow what an incredible person you and your famly are!! It amazing the
questions that I (i'm sure 'we') are asked.... the funniest one i've heard of is
when my husband and i first got together, his co-workers would ask him "can she
have sex' lol When we go to a restaruant the waiters usually ask him what I
want, and he looks at them and says i dont know ask her! lol People can be
ignorant to the obvious to put it bluntly! Of course there were those who
thought i couldn't raise my daughter bcos of the w/c, It amazes them more when i
grocery shopping, clean the house, and all the other things that 'able bodied'
people do lol it baffles them! I have learned to laugh of course i'm not rude
and do it in front of thier faces .... lol
Anyhow, I am orgionally from Carlsbad, NM if you have heard of the Carlsbad
caverns, you know where it is... :) In july 08 we moved to Roswell, NM (where
the aliens are!! lol) I love it here, although it'd be nice to live in a place
like you do where you don't have to worry about locking the doors, but I guess
it could be worse! Albuquerque is worse...... :)
Oh and Mary..... :) I think I can wait for my daughter to be that age! Yeah I
remember doing the same to my grandma when i'd go to the movies wirth
friends.....of course once she let me go by myself (she drove) i didn't know she
had stayed in the car instead of go home, so my friends and i had the bright
idea to sneak out of the theater to meet boys in the back.....yeah you can
imagine how humiliating it was when my grandma pulled up to the back of the
theater demanding to know what we were doing, who the boys were, where they came
from..... lol even more humiliating when she not only told me to get into the
van but my friends to cos she was 'responsible' LOL NOW i can understand why she
did it, but at the time forget it i thought my life had ended!!! LOL

Hi to all,
Well guess I am a oldie here cause i have been a para since 1974, I was just
21, at that time I was married with a 3 year old daughter. To make it short he
couldn't handle the fact that I supposely wouldn't have anymore kids, but I
think it was due to me not walking and what comes along with dealing with all
that. But hey life went on, he did try to take my daughter from me cause he
didn't see how I could raise her, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA . Two years after my
accident I met my now hubby who never once looked at my chair as a problem and
always treated my daughter great which was a plus for me. Well in 1980 we had a
daughter , 4 years later we had a son. My kids are all grown now and have all
grown up to be wonderful adults, my oldest is an LPN , my middle daughter is an
dental assistant, my son hangs steel. I also was always involved with my kids
while in school, I now have 4 wonderful grandkids who keep me going, 12, 10, 7,
and 6. I sometimes think my ex
did me a favor , cause if he hadn't left me I don't think I'd have the wonderful
life I do now. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in and hope we can get some people
talking on this group, would be great to share life stories and what each of us
has to deal with everyday. And where is everyone from??? I am from Louisiana,
deep south, rural small country town, we don't even lock our doors. Course just
hubby and I at home, HAAAA. Everyone have a nice night and lets chat.
Later, Theresa

It will be 9 years on november 20th.
Hannah is in the 5th grade and when we go to the movies she sits with her
friends in the front or back and only needs me if she wants pop corn or candy.
besides that i am chopped liver. that is ok. i think i did the same to my mom.

Hi Mary,
What a coincidence! I had my eight year anniversary on Jan 22 of this year.
My sons were in 3rd and 6th grade at the time. My youngest doesn't remember
me walking either.
I was extremely involved with my sons' schools and activities. Now on son is
a Soph. in college and the other is in high school so they don't want me
meddling in their stuff any more.
In fact I went to the same movie theater that my son went to when he was
going with his friends. He was upset because he thought I was "chaperoning"
him. I said I was not even going to the same movie. I think he was
chaperoning us. :-)
Have a great day!
Monica
