Hello everyone.
I've been lurking since discovering this site a few weeks ago. The
history of posting activity seemed too low to be of much help as I
was hoping have a place where we could all pull our chairs up to the
virtual fireplace and gab.
Low and behold - this place has really perked up and I just had to
wheel over and introduce myself!
I'm Diane, defined now by my SCI which is T4/5 complete. Everything
changed for me after May 2, 2003 (age 42) when I was no longer
defined by my profession but rather the story about me and my
motorcycle accident.
I see the wonderful offers many of you are making to one another for
private emailing - I just hope you don't give up your seat here.
I have so much to learn from you and hopefully something to offer.
I belonged to another Yahoo group and the pop up ads drove us
elsewhere. That and we had to keep reminding one another to EDIT
your posts! Through trial and error we learned you can hit reply,
change the subject line as your post changes the topic and delete
all but the key parts of a previous post you want to refer to.
So from what I see posted here lately - I'm in these darn elastic
clothes forever eh? I love long skirts, long dresses in the summer
but all winter it's been either gray or black sweats! UGH! For some
reason I miss wearing jeans but how on earth would I get an IC done
in my chair wearing those?
Does anyone else have experience letting go of an entire wardrobe of
fitted business attire? There is no way this gut is going to make
it's way back into those waistbands in a year or so is there? I've
yet to tackle one closet of clothes I can no longer wear. Of course
I'll go the consignment/donate route, but hey we're WOMEN with SCI
right? So let's talk about the emotional baggage behind this!
