Re: SCI/Social security and marriage

Being a newlywed, I have made dozens of phone calls about marriage
and my benefits. I contacted Social Security and talked to a woman
about my situation. She told me that I would lose Medicaid and my
Supplemental Income, but not my Medicare and Social Security. So I am
basically losing prescription coverage and about $150 a month. Not
too bad! She said that if my husband made under a certain amount, she
didn't know the amount off the top of her head, that I wouldn't lose
the Medicaid or SSI. I hope this helps! Congratulations to you and
your fiance! It's such a fun time, stressful, but SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Best wishes
Bridgette
