First of all, welcome to our group. I hope that you find all that you
and your family are looking for concerning SCI. Second, and more
importantly, abandon the blame/guilt game. You can spend so much time
and energy there, and being stuck in that bottomless pit can be far
more devastating than the injury itself. I myself was injured in a
car accident four years ago in which I fell asleep while driving and
crushed my T5/6 vertebrae. I remember nothing. I have had two
nightmares about a car accident, but I can't even recall if the
nightmares are a reflection of what I actually went through, or
images of the stories I've been told. In my first year after injury,
I spent a lot of time researching SCI, and that is how I came to
begin this group - there just isn't enough information about SCI, and
especially on WOMEN with SCI. I wrote a college research paper on the
topic for a course I took. I will search for it and send it to you
when I find it. I have gotten a new computer since I wrote the paper,
so it may take some time to locate it and then possibly to type it up
again. I hope it will help. Again, welcome to our group.
