Each year, Congress considers legislation, known as the budget resolution, which sets the broad parameters for spending on federal programs for the next fiscal year. This year, the Senate passed an amendment adding $7 billion for domestic healthcare programs to the Fiscal Year 2007 Budget Resolution. The same amendment was offered in the House, but was defeated. As a result, this week the House will vote on a budget resolution that does not provide adequate funding for critical healthcare services, such as HIV/AIDS research, prevention, and care and treatment programs. We urge you to CALL or EMAIL your representatives and ask them to VOTE NO on the current budget resolution.
