Oh don't feel bad Hilly I couldn't believe it either, then he sounded absolutely shocked when I explained to him that YES I frimly believe God don't give people AIDS.
Some people I am finding are very nieve and to be quite frank haven't a clue about AIDS at all. They listen to all these myths then shoot their mouths off, acting as though they have all the answers, when clearly they don't.
But the most amazing part is -
I've had so many more supporters then people who've been for obvious reasons "negetive" about the who issue and every night I pray to God, in hopes that these "individual's" will come to know the real truth and not the fictional part of what AIDS is.
I would never, ever wish this disease upon anyone - it's uglyness and painfull reality are too much, too horrible to even begin to think about. Yet the common way to
deal with this is --
"Oh he/she must have done something to deserve such a fate - oh well that's what they get."
Ok so does that mean YOUR next? Or that your just so darn special that you could never make such a mistake to get AIDS, Cancer or whatever?
I've asked people to tell me why is it that for instance -
Children are born with it?
A raped woman contracts it?
There are so many case scernio's to go by - even (and this really bothers me) some churches are basically saying that because of misbehavior - people are punished with different afflections - what AIDS, Cancer, Kidney failure, etc??
Hilly, Hilly -
I've been very grateful to have people like yourself who are true of heart and spirit, who want to see change and positive action taken
so AIDS can be - at some point a thing of the past.
However until that time, it will take dedicated, compassionate and very strong people to stand up and make they're voices known; to stand for humanity - it in order for us to make it as a nation in this screwed up world.
YOU are very outspoken and that is so appreciated, not only do you clearly understand what AIDS is but your heart is so big and not judgemental - THAT IS WHAT I WANT!
True people who are not afraid to express what they feel, to as it were - get their hands dirty for something worth while - for what they believe in.
Thanks, thanks so very much indeed!!

what kind of evil unthinking bastard was he. What kind of evil
vindictive god does he believe in. My god isn't a wicked cruel
vindictive god who gives people AIDS because they deserve it.How does
their twisted lgic work for a child born HIV positive I wonder?
I wish a thousand painful illnesses on people like him - knowing that
in their 'faith' they will refuse to choose their own going and die
in Pain and fear.
Does that sound cruel? It was meant to...I wouldn't be so
unkind...but it is the natural extension of that person's attitude.
Dammit we are in 2007; the AIDS epidemic came to light over 30 years
ago and there are still people who take a medieval attitude to it.
Until people like that learn that it could hit them too we will never
really get to the turning point in the fight.
Until then walk run and best of all SCREAM in support of AID research.
