Hi!
Congratulations on your weight loss success!! That's awesome!! Right before I had gastric bypass surgery (in August of 2002) one of the nurses, who had also had gastric bypass surgery two years before me had told me that she was going to have plastic surgery done to remove excess skin due to her weight loss. At the time I remember thinking...I don't think that I am going to need plastic surgery nor did I want to have it done. Well three years later...I have just completed my second round of cosmetic surgery and I am sooooooo happy and thankful that I have had it done! To me it has made all the difference in the world! I just feel so much more confident in and out of clothes! My first surgery was on August 8, 2005. I had a circumfrential abdomiplasty (spelling?), the surgeon...who is awesome..removed all of the excess skin on my stomach. He also did what he referred to as a debulking of my
thighs. I would reccomend at least a three week time frame to recover from something like that. My second surgery was on October 17, 2005. I had my arms done, a thigh lift, a breast lift and implants. That was five weeks ago today and I am feeling really good! Unfortunately none of this was covered by insurance, and on my teacher's salary I had to finance all $23,000 of it. I think that it is totally worth it!!! The healing process, I think has gone really well! My only real problem has been on my thighs down towards one of my knees. There is alot of swelling in one area where the tissue has not totally healed, on the inside. I have to wrap my leg with an ace bandage to keep the swelling down until it completely heals. I hope that this helps! Talk to you soon!
