                   Hi Eddy,

I understand you may be interested in soilless wheatgrass.

I have a huge company that manufactures our wheatgrass

without any soil. We use a technique called the

Indoor Aeroponic Cultivation method allowing us

to create our wheatgrass literally in the air!

(We harvest our wheatgrass on the 8th day to ensure maximum

nutrients are included - we did some research on this)

If this interests you, please feel free to contact me.

I can send you a video to watch it IN ACTION!

Kind Regards,

Poonam

Hi Dead Head Jim,

I've been considering this as an option during the winter months.

What kind of light are you using?

Wattage?

And if its a fluorescent, what color are the bulbs?

Also, please indulge us with your light schedule, 12 on, 12 off, or?

I assume by hydro, you mean soilless *and* with lights as opposed to sunshine?

Thanks in advance,

Eddy

To do this, you need three 10X20 trays. Drill small holes in one tray, line tray
bottom with unbleached paper towels. Soak/sprout one cup wheat berries, place
these berries in paper towel-lined tray after wetting down the paper towel in
pure water. Place this tray in another tray, and cover with your third tray and
let sit. The next day check the catch tray and place a 1/2 cup water if dry, do
this once a day....overwater = mold... Alternate with liquid kelp/molasses food.
This low-budget system works well....Good Luck!

I understand that you have an issue with the pungent taste of your wheatgrass.

Kings,

I have been doing wheatgrass for 25 years on and off and have never really liked
the taste but what it does for my body is beyond anything the medical
association or myself could ever have come up with.  I believe that it can
dramaticly change and sensitize you to such a degree that you feel humbled and
blessed when you realize this. I have experimented with drinking and implanting
large quantities which have led to these statements. Much Love to you.  Bob Kunz

Hi! I'm a newbie wheatgrass juicer. My wife and I have just started growing and
juicing our own wheatgrass and she loves it! Unfortunately, I don't really care
for the taste ( nasty!) and am looking for a few recipes that might help. Surely
I'm not the only one that wants to benefit from the juice but can't take the
flavour! LOL It seems to overpower everything you try and mix it with. Any help
would be greatly appreciated. Also, as a side note, it makes me drowsy about a
half hour after drinking it. I must be weird! :-)

I have plenty of light, and my crops are ready in 8-10 days. Yes, this new way
uses no soil, and the wheatgrass tastes mellow. Don't overwater, and use a fan

Well, you can add some sunflower sprouts to the mix, dilute with pure water, try
barley grass, or like my last post, grow wheatgrass hydrophonically. This really
mellows the taste.

                    Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has heard of this man from the raw food movement and
his controversial views on Wheatgrass.

I was quite shocked as i have only read good things about it.

The link is below, please have a read and what do you think.

Regards Clare.

Clare,

Just thought I would put in my edit. Most people don't just

read about wheatgrass juice and then start drinking it. Many

try it for the first time at a juice bar and they feel more

energetic that day than they have felt in a long long time.

Thus, they become spokesmen for wheatgrass juice. There is no

raw veggie, no raw fruit, nothing that I have ever tried (and I have

tried many many different products) that gives the all day

energetic buzz of wheatgrass juice. Wheatgrass juice speaks for

itself. It doesn't need frederic patenaude to speak for or

against it.

kind regards,

I personally would take what he said with a grain of salt, sea salt that is,
LOL.

Taking into consideration his comment, "Why would you want to drink such a nasty
beverage?", I wouldn't trust his information. What a stupid prejudiced comment.

Plenty of healthy foods/supplements taste inferior to certain people, that
doesn't deny their benefit. Seems to me he didn't like it and made a case
against it. Stupid if you ask me. After reading his opinion about that I would
not trust anything coming from him and research it for myself.

Just my 2 cents,

Lisa

I went online and purchased some 2oz. cups & lids from acemart. I freeze my
leftovers, or I put the juice in the cups and give it away to co-workers...make
new converts to green juice! I read somewhere that the frozen juice is still 80%
good. Best of luck....JImbo

Greetings to all,

I'm using the 17 X 17 nursery trays with the lattice style bottom now for
planting my barley grass. I'm using non-bleached paper towels to line the
bottom. I have good drainage, water retention, and absolutely no mold at all!
However, does this fit in the pure, organic model? Does anyone have any
ideas/suggestions on this? The 17 X 17 trays from HHI are nice, but funds are
short.

Thanks again, Jimbo

MO is excellent fertilizer. you can get it at large feed stores
in 5 gal buckets for less than $20,00.  I have used it as a
fire ant killer mixed with manure water. A ratio of 1part mo
to10 parts clean water for plant fertilizer. This stimulates microbial
growth in soil in an organic plan,

Greetings to all,

Has anyone on this board ever use molasses as a fertilizer, soil drench? I'm
curious due to the amount of vitamins & minerals in pure molasses.

Thanks

Hi all,

I finally gave up on wheat grass, and switched over to barley grass
instead.I couldn't deal with that "taste" anymore! I don't have a problem with
the bitterness of barley, and I actually enjoy it more. Barley grass juice also
seems to have a better nutritional profile than wheat grass as well.

There is a query that the taste of wheatgrass isn't good. How to improve its
taste? Yoyoumay add honey, or garlic or betel leaf to increase the taste andnd
medicinal quality of the wheat grass.
By chewing the grass the point of taste can be taken care of.The effect of
a100gm of WG in the form of juice iws equal to 25gm(1/4th the quantity) of WG
chewed and with no nausea or bad taste. But to get the maximum benefit of WG it
is better to eat without adding anything anything and on empty stomach-early
morning.
But NEVER add ----limejuice or Salt to WG.I t is an antidote.

Manorma

I have tried Tender Coconut water and also mixing it with Cucumber juice.
Both taste quite good.

Deepak.

I just juiced a 1/2 tray (10x20) of wheatgrass with some romaine lettuce,
carrots and 2 celery stalks. Tasted pretty good. I found that adding an apple is
good as well, but some days, the sweetness of the grass is too much to bear!
Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for your kind replies. Jimbo

A little lemon and agave nectar works for us plus I dilute it with a little

Celery is suppossed to be a good balance for it, but I hate celery so I have
never tried it.
I make a smoothie with berries, yogurt and banannas and you can't really taste
it much, my kids drink it that way.

with ALL green juices: spinach, kale juices, etc. they ALL taste 'bland' or
worse.
best: APPLE JUICE!! The tartness of the apple flavor cuts the bland harshness
of the green juice flavors..............

Hi Manorma,
Thankyou so much for answering my question. I have tried
it with enzymes and without and haven't had any pain, in fact i have had so much
more energy and less pain and its only been one week on wheatgrass. I'm not
naive enough to think its going to cure me, that would be a miracle but it has
definitely given me a boost and for that reason alone i shall carry on with it.

Thanks so much
Sean.
