I bought one and returned it, it wasn't really gettng the juice out I
ran it through again and again, wearing myself out cranking. I was
still able to put what was run through in my mouth afterwards and
there was still Alot of juice I got just from chewing.

It was probably just defective? I bought a barely used samson off
ebay for $90 delivered and have been very pleased and can use it for
alot of other thing besides just wheatgrass, it came with all kinds
of attachments. I would advise spending a little more and getting a
used decent electric one, unless your buying it as a backup for a
jericho type situation, but in that case I'd just advise cutting it
up and rolling it up in the side of your mouth and chewing on it, it
would get alot more juice than from that juicer in my opinoin.

Thank you. This will be my first one. I don't grow wheatgrass yet but at
$3 - $5 a pop for each wheatgrass, lemon and ginger shot I take...it adds up.
Granted I haven't had one in a minute. I really came to enjoy this. We
bought a wheatgrass powder and it is sitting in the kitchen now...it's just not
the same so I think I will purchase this one to start me off.

Thanks.

I also clicked on the electric one and for $149 it looked interesting, not
too bad in price. It looks like a few other brands that cost a lot more and
it does other juices besides wheatgrass.
All in all, I would say it would be a good thing to own.

We sell wheartgrass in the trays where I work. If you want to
personally email me I can get your info and see about sending you some
pamelacron@... . I think the trays are so much better then
growing it yourself, for me at least because the mold and gnats take
over before the harvest of the grass. This time I have gnats because
two of our trays were that got delivered were bad and they brought the
gnats with them. Other than that it has been great!

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for gnats. We buy
our wheatgrass already grown, comes in flats and there seems to be no
gnats when we get it. But it seems after a few days they show up. Is
there something I can do to make them go away?
Also, I have been told that 2 ounces of wheatgrass is equivalent to 9
servings of vegetables. Does anyone know if this is right?
Thank you

When we first got the juicer our wheat grass wasn't ready so my husband
juiced some spinach - it was pretty good. We haven't tried anything
else yet.

It's really very simple to use and only 3 parts to clean. Simply put
the grass down the shoot and turn the handle. We always put the tips
(top) of the grass down first - supposed to juice better... Also, we
put the pulp through it a couple times (broken apart in about 2"
lengths). There is more foam with that, but I wipe the fresh foam on
my face and neck and rub it in a bit. It's a great facial!

I just wish you could get more than 8-10 oz from the 11 x 21 flat. Oh
well - that's why I've been soaking seeds every other day.

Let me know how you like it!

the MJ440 is free shipping - go figure - the hurricane with the kit is 27.00
Can you imagine! ugh...
I think I'll order the MJ440 and give it a shot.
do you juice other greens with it? and how does it work?

thanks so much
Colleen

I bought it from wheatgrasskits.com. They offer a trade-in if you
decide to upgrade to a electric juicer within 1 year. You can return
the manual one and get $60 off an electric one.

Actually, I just checked on the box and its a MJ445. On the homepage
of wheatgrasskits, it says MJ440 under the manual juicers. The
Hurricane juice (under the same section) is good also.

Sorry it took so long to reply - my little one is keeping me quite
busy! Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Thanks so much. I've been buying seed from Wheatgrass Kits and they
are very helpful too. I asked them as well and they thought it was a
good idea.

I may vacuum seal it in 1 week supply packages. I'm also concerned
with the pantry moths although I haven't had that problem. I just want
to really protect the seed as we pay alot for shipping...from Utah to
Wisconsin.

Thanks again!

Has anyone heard of any problems relating to toxins being released in
breastmilk? I'm breasting my 19 month old and drinking up to 4 oz per
day. (2 oz in the morning and 2 oz at night)

Hi! I'm new to the group and I'm from Wisconsin. I'm also new to the
whole wheatgrass growing thing!

I just purchased 50# of seed from Wheatgrass Kits and would like to
know the best way to store it. Has anyone tried vacuum sealing? Of
course, I'm trying to keep it out of the light and humidity. Any other
ideas out there?

Hello Clare try watering from the bottom up by placing the whole flat in a tube
with water in it.This can help keep mold at bay.It takes a bit more time unless
you puch alot of holes in the bottom of your trays.I grow alot of barley here in
central Illinois and it handles the hot humid weather really well.I also grow
alot of sunflower greens they love it hot and wet and the taste good to.Jeff.

I am wondering if the Kitchenaid fruit and vegetable strainer will work as a
wheatgrass juicer? Does anyone know? I hate to purchase yet another piece
of kitchen equipment.

Thanks.
