Hello Clare try watering from the bottom up by placing the whole flat in a tube
with water in it.This can help keep mold at bay.It takes a bit more time unless
you puch alot of holes in the bottom of your trays.I grow alot of barley here in
central Illinois and it handles the hot humid weather really well.I also grow
alot of sunflower greens they love it hot and wet and the taste good to.Jeff.

Greetings all--Have been using wheatgrass off and on for 20 years. My husband
and Icurrently live in the desert (closest big city is Phoenix) and arehaving a
very difficult time growing it and/or buying it (other thanspending a small
fortune buying it from Whole Foods Market).(1) Molds if we water it
sufficiently. Dries out if we do not waterit sufficiently.(2) Finding farmers
who grow it in the Phoenix area that we canbuy flats from.Does anybody posting
here have experience growing grass in the desert,and/or with how to deal with
molding problems? Anybody know of bulkfarmers/growers in the Phoenix area?Thank
you so much.Clare
