Brian,
I also grind all my own wheat and make bread. Today I am attempting to
make a homemade birthday cake for my husband (I hate the boxed cake
mixes). I buy all kinds of wheat, but for wheat grass purposes, I like
hard red winter wheat.
I personally am not fond of the taste of wheatgrass. I don't mind
drinking it warm, as long as it is mixed with some other juice (I
mean, some is better than none, right?) At my hfs, they mix it with
pineapple juice, and I have grown to like that here in my own home. I
know grow my own wheat (cheaper), and mix it with whatever juice I
have on hand.
