Hi,
Please could you assist with some advice? Im currently growing my
first batch of wheatgrass and wanted to check to see if what I am
experiencing is normal.
The grass is NOT growing through as a thick "mat" where some of the
grass blades are much taller than others - some are two inches tall
and some are only just growing through. I did lay 2 cups of seed
onto the 11X21 tray and hear that this is too much - I believe only
1 1/4 cups is sufficient to prevent some of the seeds from
germinating and then rotting causing mold (which I don't have a
problem with, yet...). Do the shorter blades of grass "catch up" to
the others..? When the grass grows, is it supposed to grow together
all the same height..?
Here is what I did:
Tuesday Evening - Soaked 2 cups.
Wed Morning - Planted (and covered)
Thurs Morning - Kept covered
Friday Morning - Uncovered
This grass is therefore 4 days old.
I spray 2 times per day with water mixed with 10 drops GSE
(Grapefruit Seed Extract) and 10 drops Kelp.
It seems to be fine (apart from the uneven growth), so any
suggestions will be appreciated.
I did buy the seed from grasskits, so it is not the seed.
Thanks
