I was talking to KK at Wheatgrass.com the other day and I shared with
her a tip on controlling mold that I would like to share with you.
Everytime I grow a tray I always try and do something different to
compare the results. I have tried everything to eliminate the mold,
peroxide, you name it. Recently I started not only rinsing my new
seeds but I put a small amount of Environne ved. wash and shake it up
good. I then let it sit for about 5 minutes and then I rinse it about
7 times or until the water is clear. After it has sat for 6 to 8
hours I give it another 2 rinses along with another 2 rinses right
before I lay the seed. The black bold that I used to see while
cutting the wheatgrass hase been reduced by about 90%. Is it alot
more work? You bet, but its better than having to power wash or just
not seeing all that mold makes it worth the extra effort. I am now
trying to get my trays of grass to grow thicker and more even and
green like the trays of wheatgrass I used to purchase before growing
my own. If you have any tips, please post.
Ron
