Eddy,
I grow my grass on trays on old shoe racks inside, in a north-facing window!
I have plenty of light, and my crops are ready in 8-10 days. Yes, this new way
uses no soil, and the wheatgrass tastes mellow. Don't overwater, and use a fan
to promote air circulation. Best of luck! Jimbo

Hi Dead Head Jim,
I've been considering this as an option during the winter months.
What kind of light are you using?
Wattage?
And if its a fluorescent, what color are the bulbs?
Also, please indulge us with your light schedule, 12 on, 12 off, or?
I assume by hydro, you mean soilless *and* with lights as opposed to sunshine?
Thanks in advance,
Eddy

mild. To do this, you need three 10X20 trays. Drill small holes in one tray,
line tray bottom with unbleached paper towels. Soak/sprout one cup wheat
berries, place these berries in paper towel-lined tray after wetting down the
paper towel in pure water. Place this tray in another tray, and cover with your
third tray and let sit. The next day check the catch tray and place a 1/2 cup
water if dry, do this once a day....overwater = mold... Alternate with liquid
kelp/molasses food. This low-budget system works well....Good Luck!
