Such nonsense...enzymes are not living, have never been living and cannot be
"killed". Enzymes are catalysts, (protein molecules) that breakdown
very specific proteins. The activity of the enzyme is affected by heat, the
abundance of the specific protein upon which the enzyme acts and pH of the
substrate.
Use whatever method you prefer, but understand, juice is 95% water, only 5% dry
matter. The dry matter you throw away contains fiber and an array of nutrition
comprable to a multi-vitamin with minerals. I personally would blend and
consume the entire thing. The amount of heat is negligible, afterall when
ingested the wheat grass is in a warm environment of at least 98.6!
The nonsense about heat is primarily a ploy of manufacturers of juicers!
Enjoy your good health!
Jerry

a blender gets the grass hot and kills the enzymes

I'd be interested in hearing about this.? I haven't purchased a juicer yet and
am not sure it would be worth my while.? I often feel like Cliff Huxtable of the
Cosby show when it comes to kitchen appliances.

Hi Everyone!
I just joined today and I am happy to be a member of the wheatgrass community.
Just a little about me...I bought ann wigmore's book, "The Wheatgrass Book" and
started growing about 2 months ago. It was easier than anticipated but I don't
consider myself an expert, although, it would seem that many years would make
you as such. This is not rocket science. This weekend I am going to start my
first cleanse using wheatgrass.
So, from the title of my post I am wondering if there really is any difference
in whether you use a blender or wheatgrass juicer to juice your grass? I have
heard that you can get much more juice from the pulp if strained
thru a nylon bag after using a blender and the clean up is a snap but someone
told me that it affects the nutrients of the grass and that its much more
beneficial to use the wheatgrass juicer.
What say you?
Tom
