Looking for help for my brother   Message List

Hello everyone... My name is Toni and I am looking for help and
support for my brother. He is currently suffering from Wernicke's
from malnutrition, he did not eat for a period of time and developed
this disease as a result of that. He is not an alcholic and never
was, which seems to often be the case with the disease. Also, he was
not treated for it at the time, no dr. knew what was wrong with him
and blew him off and said he was fine. It is now 2 years later and he
has memory loss, stomach/digestive problems, heart problems and is
extremely depressed because of what he has lost as a result of this.
I have been all over the internet looking for someone who is in a
similar situation as him, so he doesn't feel so alone, but I can't
seem to find anyone. It seems many cases are far worse than his and
the people affected are in nursing homes. He is bad enough that he
can't have the life he did, but not bad enough to be unaware of what
has happened and what he has lost.
This is extremely hard for me because I am the only one he talks to
and he depends on me to find help for him and honestly I don't know
where to go anymore.

If anyone could offer me any advice or help with this it would be
greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much
