I totally empathise with you. I have been there too. Not knowing
what you will find, picking them off the street and the state of the
house. We totally gutted my dad's house suite, carpets, decor, beds
etc on two occassions.

My dad too worked hard all his life, he worked on the oil rigs,had a
beautiful home, loving wife and two great daughters but drink won.

He is now living in a nursing home at 65 years of age with nothing.

It is really sad.

I too feel for the life he has lost but you have to accept it and help
where you can, but you have to get on with your life too.

Remember to take care of you!!
