Re: [wernicke_korsakoff_syndrome] what to do, what to do?

Hi,
How old is your mother and where is she living? Does
she buy the alcohol herself? Does she have any insight
into her condition. From my (limited)experience, and
I'm just going on my dad. It's hard as he doesn't
really know that he has a memory problem so therefore
has no insight into the cause of it and so still wants
to drink..however I'm lucky and so is he that his
tobacco addiction seems to be 100% worse than that of
any alcohol addiction and would take a cigarette over
a drink anytime (at the moment, although he is in a
residential home so this limits him slightly although
not always if you have read my earlier postings).
I have a question too has anyone with WKS or knows
someone with WKS noticed that there pain threshold has
changed? In that they feel pain less??

My mom is 60 and lives at home with her husband. She gets alcohol from him (he's an alcoholic too) or she makes my sister buy it. As far as insight goes, she...
