I'm new

Hello everyone. I was looking up info about WKS today and I was
pleased to find this group. My mom is currently in a nursing home as
a result of alcohol-induced dementia/alzheimers. Although she has not
been diagnosed with WKS, her symptoms very much parallel this
illness. She is only 61yrs.
We put her in the nursing home in September, 2001. The process has
been quite difficult.
I would be happy to talk to anyone, especially around medical
advances (reversing effects?), as I know that this doesn't currently
exist. My heart goes out to all of you, as I understand your pain.

Sincerely,

Jennifer

Hi Larry, Yes, it is hard to think of it as a disease. I have a lot of anger, and I'm not ashamed of it - and while some is selfish, most of it centers around...

Hi Amy, I guess you're certainly entitled to your anger. Alcoholism is so difficult to deal with (especially when the person hasn't acknowledged the problem...
