Dear Catherine,
Hi! Hope you had a great
summer.
I am assuming I am giving
the talk on October 16th. I am going to do it with a friend. When
do you send out an announcement? I will send you our bios.
Of course I assume it is “generic
info”. In any case it is illegal to “educate” and promote the
products I use, at the same time. Do you know the DSHEA Act that passed in
1994? Dietary Health and Supplements Education Act or something like that. Anyway
it specifically states that you can use scientific evidence to discuss a topic
but you cannot use the evidence to “sell” a product. Perhaps you
already know about it.
Anyway glyconutrients
really have nothing/little to do with insulin balance…you will see! It is
a really cool topic.
If you want me to give
you a little overview let’s talk on the phone.
The girl I will give the
talk with will be able to get into the nitty-gritty of the science as she has a
PhD in Microbiology and 2 postdocs in Immunology. She is from
So, let me know what you
need from me and I’ll be sending you questions as I have them.
Thanks for all your
organizational efforts.
All the best,
Demetra

Dear Demetra,
I can put you down for October, November is taken. Since this
will be your first time to address the group, I am not sure if you are aware of
our "generic information" guideline that we require of the
practitioners. The purpose of our monthly talks is to educate the public
on a specific topic that you specialize in without refering to a product line
or service that you provide. I call this a soft sell approach. The
guest comes away from the meeting feeling like they have learned something and
your reputation as a serious, knowledgeable (sp? too many years in Greece!) has
been transferred to the group increasing the possibility of future
clients. So in your case, what type of educational topic will discuss?
Blood sugars? Insulin balance? I don't know enough about
glyconutrients to make any suggestions for you, maybe we could get together and
you could explain it to me then we could come up with something that would
catch attention and pull in people. Know what I mean,
Jellybean? :) Let me know your thoughts....
I am sure you will do a great talk!
Be well,
Catherine

Dear Catherine,
I’m so sorry I missed your talk. I had a babysitting crisis and my husband got home at 8:45…
I would like to sign up to do a talk on glyconutrients during the fall. I cannot do anything in December or September. October or November would work for me.
Thanks so much!
Demetra

Dear Practitioners,
Now is the time to sign up for your opportunity to speak at the
meetings for the fall term. It will be on a first come first serve
basis.
Thanks,
Catherine
