Description

Welcome to the Rockingham County Virginia Chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF). We are a diverse group united by our common concern for health and how it relates to the food we eat and the environment we keep.

Here you can learn, share and discuss how to prepare nourishing meals in the ways that kept our ancestors strong. We strive to create a community in the Shenandoah Valley that will help educate and support one another as we learn more about the benefits of original foods as found in nature. We are volunteers. Our goals:

1. Provide referrals to local sources of biodynamically produced whole foods.

2. Provide support and advice while sharing our WAPF-related knowledge and experience.

3. Promote local sustainable farming and loving care of pasture-fed animals; nutrition facts that are evidenced by history AND science; clean, living water without additives; honest food labeling; and nurturing therapies.

4. Host lively educational events such as pot lucks, farm tours, cooking classes, and workshops.

5. Encourage cooperative buying clubs for cost-saving access to the highest quality foods and products.

6. Create a fund for educational materials.

7. Provide referrals to local services that support the Foundation's teachings regarding nutrition and health, such as: health care practitioners, child care providers, and non-toxic home and personal products.

8. Encourage public kitchens to serve healthy meals with local REAL FOOD ingredients prepared by traditional methods.
