As you are all aware, the procedure to diagnosis crosswalk has been reinstated. This crosswalk represents the first edit for medical necessity on Medicare claims. As most of you are also aware, some frequently used procedures are not appropriately linked with diagnostic categories. I have received several inquiries from members requesting a status of the VPTA's actions to encourage Trailblazer to modify the current crosswalk.

I am a part of a committee that is comprised of representatives from all of the states impacted by Traiblazer Health. This committee crafted a letter that was sent to the appropriate persons within the Trailblazer system requesting a variety of changes to the current crosswalk. To date, we have been informed that the information was received and is being reviewed. I will keep you updated via this listserv on any new developments.
