Description

This support group is for people who want to share information and their experiences with Vagus (Vagal) Nerve Stimulation Therapy for treatment of depression.

To participate in this group you need to become a member. Click on “Join This Group!” (upper right) and go from there.

This group site is moderated. It means that in the group's messages you are not going to be assaulted with spam or personal attacks. Anyone who does not abide by these simple rules will be banned.

You can ask questions, give answers or tell your stories about your experiences with VNS, depression or anything related. We are not fanatics about being exactly on topic. We welcome a healthy debate, just be polite and support your position with facts as you see them. This moderator believes that there is no one truth, only different points of view. Try to avoid politics, religion and other touchy subjects.

In our Messages folder, you can read earlier postings. It would give you a good perspective on other people's struggles with depression and trying to get VNS therapy. You can also search that folder for a word or a phrase. A lot of useful information has accumulated in these message archives.

Look for information in the various folders on the left of the screen, including Links, Database, Photos, Calendar and others.

To find out about the moderators of this group, look in “Members” folder, then click on "Moderators".

1- Speak from one's own personal experiences and knowledge. Try using the first person singular, the word "I" whenever possible: "If I were in a similar situation, this is what I would do". "I disagree with that statement, as my experiences and knowledge show…"

2- Since we are not licensed medical professionals, avoid giving medical advice.

3- Avoid saying things like: "You should do this" or "I'm telling you to do that". It can easily be misconstrued or misinterpreted as confrontational and/or argumentative.
