Before I found this solution, I battled allergies the same way you
are doing today - with over-the-counter products and prescription
drugs - hoping against hope that they would disappear one day.
Unfortunately, I can tell you from experience that those solutions
will not work; all they do is provide relief from the symptoms. They
do not go to the root of the problem and get rid of the allergies
themselves.
Today, instead of avoiding the things that I love to do in my life, I
break into a great big SMILE because I am now able to travel, swim,
work in my yard and even play golf and tennis! It is such a relief to
be able to live my life to the fullest, without worrying about when
the next dibilitating allergy attack will occur!
Those who do not have allergies or have to deal with them, will never
understand. To them it's like, "What's the Big Deal?"
Well, no matter which way you look at it, ALLERGIES HURT YOU!
Emotionally, psychologically, and physically, they hurt on a daily
basis.
Allergies can and will cause discomfort and extreme frustration at
any point in your day, and the more you worry over them, the worse
they often become. They are painful and can cause severe
complications, which can endanger your life.

Hi there,
I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.
This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here:

Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:

For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:
The refugees allege that UNHCR staff is selling most of the food items they are
supposed to be supplied.
"They aren't supplying sufficient food to us because they sell most of the food
items," they allege: http://allafrica.com/stories/200503140214.html

Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to be part of this list. I have only
looked at a few posts and it has helped already. About 10 months ago my
daughter started with a horrible rash on her hands. It looked like blisters and
with it came pain. On the palms of her hands. So after a few doc visits and no
one knowing what was wrong I was beside myself. I was told it was a viral rash
at one point because she had a few on her feet at the docs office. Hand, foot,
mouth virus. The next time it was just a virus from a cold that caused the
"blisters". In the mean time, sometimes when I would give her a bath she would
get hives on her lower back. Then, those nights after bath she would not sleep
at all. The hives on the back would go away within a few moments of being out
of the tub but this hand thing kept going. We live in Northeast Ohio. This
started in Feb of 2003. In March of 2003 we visited in-laws in FL. They have a
pool. She had some of the worst "blisters" during
our stay in FL. Then over the summer they calmed down. As soon as cool
weather hit in OH in the fall, back they came with a vengeance. The last doc I
saw was a dermatalogist that said it was eczema. It is my understanding that
Uritcaria is a sign of something wrong with the systems (one or more )of the
body. Too much antihystamine is produced. I don't know exactly what causes her
flare ups. I have eliminated dairy only to find out it is not the cause. I
would guess cold is a big issue. She was on zyrtec for a short time without
much relief. It made her hyper. I do think certain foods aggrivate the
situation. Strange enough, this week I am thinking a culperate might be
cinnamon. Any help and direction would be most helpful. I will say I am not
big on medicating her. She has such a sensative system. I feel this may be a
combination of things. Any pointers as to how you all figured it out would be
helpful. The reason I feel it is Urticaria and not Eczema is that it is
always on her hands when it flares up and I have noticed it on her feet bottoms
from time to time. In addition, she will sometimes get a low grade fever a day
or two before the flare up with no other symptoms. Thanks in advance for your
help. Melanie

Hi, I have cold urticaria too. Cold urticaria and familial cold
urticaria are somehow different. I have read that FCU has a similar
gene to that of Familial Mediterranean Fever. "It has been said many
times that there are only 7 known families in the US with FCAS."
FCU is also called Familial Cold Autoinflammatory Syndrome (FCAS).
Familial cold urticaria.
Zip CM, Ross JB, Greaves MW, Scriver CR, Mitchell JJ, Zoar S.
Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.
Familial cold urticaria (FCU) is a rare autosomal dominant condition,
first described in 1940. The onset is in early life in all reported
cases. Symptoms are triggered by generalized exposure to cold air,
particularly in damp and windy weather. The cutaneous lesions
consist of erythematous macules or plaques, urticarial lesions and
sometimes petechiae. Associated fever, chills, joint pains, nausea,
stiffness and swelling of the hands and feet frequently occur. The
symptoms are variable, ranging from mild to incapacitating. The
pathogenesis of FCU remains unknown. To our knowledge only 10
pedigrees have been published, seven from the USA and one each
from Holland, France and South Africa. We wish to report another
extensive pedigree after having had the opportunity to investigate
one member of the family in detail. A short form of this pedigree has
been published elsewhere.

Hi, I do get hives on my palms too though the hives won't be visible.
It is extrememly itchy and painful, and it feels like my palms are
burning! I get it on my soles too. My palms and soles gets real warm
and red looking. I use a corticosteriod cream to help with the itch.
It does help a bit.

I had one last Tuesday and opted to not use the sleepy drug. It hurt
less than I expected and went directly to work. They found mast
cells in my marrow. I will follow up on Tuesday with my allergist to
see what's next. I have already known that I have mastoctosis and
have been fighting its out breaks for years. Mastocytosis.com is a
great link for some added understanding. Hopefully you can find a
Doctor in your area that has the patience and bedside manor to help
determine what meds work best for you. If I can answer anything more
please let me know...I'll put you in my prayers.
