Just got off the phone with Mom.. they had italian food last night, Pam
was able to have some of her salad, and a little bit of her Calimari
Pasta - Which is a very good thing :-)
They're gonna have breakfast in a little bit, and Pam's hungry :-D
Nancy
Pam must be feeling so much better. The appetite is back. And she can open a jar of peaches. That there shows so much strength. All very promising news.
With Pam feeling better she should be able to cheer Mom up. So today should be a good day all around.

Wonderful News :-)
When Pam woke up this morning, she asked Mom for peaches... Mom couldn't get the quart jar open, so she took it in to Pam, and she was able to get it open! that in itself was a victory - but then Pam ate a third of the jar of peaches! and about a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. When I talked to them tonight, Pam was ordering from Waiters on Wheels, and Mom is just overjoyed.
When I first spoke with Mom this morning, she was very depressed. I told her to have a great day, and she said, "not like anything good is going to happen" and I told her to just be on the lookout for something, anything that's good, there's got to be something.. and lo and behold miracles do happen.. this is the best progress she's made in a while, and she is sounding so happy and strong..

Nancy, thanks for the update, I've been thinking of all of you this whole day. Glad your Mom is alright and how nice to hear that Pam seemed more coherent today. It's sure tough going through this isn't it. Thanks so much for your concern for my brother-in-law Ron and for your prayers for him, meant a lot to me......AJ (Arlene)
Thanks, everyone - the fire department was able to get mom up, and she
is resting now - I talked to Pam, she sounded stronger and more
coherent then she has in a while - She thanks you all for your love
and support, and your prayers
Nancy
Lord, help Pam, Nancy and their mother right now. Cradle them in your healing and loving arms that they may have the strength to overcome. In Jesus name, Amen Penny

Just a quick update - Pam was still sleeping when I talked to mom this morning - she said things were going okay - then about 12, i got this sudden urge to call - when I did, Pam told me that Mom had just fallen down in the bedroom. Mom is unable to get up by herself - I've had to call the security people from our housing community to help pick her up before, but of course at Pam's, that's not an option. So, they are calling the fire department - and hopefully they will come and help Mom and Pam out. I feel so helpless here. I've been taking care of Mom for the past 9 years, and there's nothing I can do but sit and wait. I am pretty sure Mom didn't break anything, she's just sore, and stuck on the floor. Ugh. Prayers for strength are needed, thanks

Nancy, oh what a scare that has to be hearing your Mom had fallen. Hopefully she is okay, keep me posted. Know how you felt getting that call and not being close by to rush right over and be there for Mom and Pam. You all are in my special thoughts. Hang in there dear.
There are many prayers going out for yourself, for Pam, and for your mother.

I am still praying for you. Do take care of your self. I can't wait
til you get better. Prayers for you and your family. Hugs to your
children as well. See ya soon Pam. TerryAnn.
I just got off the phone with mom... Pam went to the dr today, and her
instructions are to keep sleeping as much as she can, to build up her
strength, and to eat what she can and when she can. She had 3 or 4
sips of a Root Beer Float today, and a bite of a hamburger, which is
more then she's eaten in a while. The Dr said that he thought her
appetite should improve in about a week or so. That is something to
look forward to for sure.
It's been a long, rough day, and it's time for bed.
Be safe
Nancy
Thank you so much for updating us I'm sure that I'm just like everyone else worried about her. It was so hard not knowing what was going on with her. It's amazing how many people really care for someone they have never met in person. Please give her our best wishes.

Good Morning :-)
I just got off the phone with my mom (Betty) - I call her at 8AM and 5PM every day.
Yesterday, Christina came over, and spent the day with Pam, hanging out and doing stuff around that house that neither of them are able to do, like changing sheets and fluffing bedding... my sister Susie came and picked Mom up for lunch - it's only the second time since Mom got there Dec 31 that she's left Pam at all. It was good for her to be out and to breathe some fresh air.. It's very depressing at Pam's right now. She sleeps, and crys - and sleeps some more... and Mom feels so helpless since she is blind and can't really do much for Pam- but both Pam and I told her that her job is to just BE THERE. There's so much to be said for just NOT BEING ALONE. I don't think Pam could sleep if Mom wasn't there.
Next weekend, I think Mom is going to get to see my other sister Linda, and maybe even the two new great grandbabies :-)
*** Pam just called me while I was typing this post.. Mom told her I started this group, and Pam was crying - she feels so lost right now - she can't get online, or remember how to post from a phone - and you folks are her lifeline - you have made such a difference in her life and she misses you all so much - she feels like she's let you all down by dropping the ball on her journal - its just more then she can do.***
I am going through and recording all the comments and posts that she's missed since her last entry - and will send them to her on tape or CD - I think it will do her a world of good. I am passing on to her all the e-mails and messages that you have sent to me for her.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and love.
I think it's wonderful you started this yahoo! group, Nancy!
Please give her a hug from all of us & let her know we're thinking of her :)
Sincerely,
~Dee

Hey there :-)
I spoke with Pam today for a while.. she's having trouble with her
computer - can't get it to start up, etc. and isn't able to think
clearly at all right now to figure it out. So, until a tall, dark and
geeky caped computer tech shows up to save the day, I don't think Pam
will be back online herself for a bit.
I have created a yahoo group where i'll be posting updates daily after
I talk to the home team. I don't want to hijack Pam's comment space
permanently.
