When I was little I was quite afraid of elevators. I remember once,
being terribly afraid, crying and refusing to go inside of the
elevator while on a family vacation. I really cannot remember what,
exactly I was afraid of back then. Now, most of the time, I don't
really fear riding in elevators, but I still do get an uneasy feeling
sometimes in certain elevators, particularly if they appear very old
and/or run down. The weird thing is that I have dreams/nightmares
quite often about riding in elevators that break and just start
falling rapidly toward the ground. Sometimes it feels like they are
spinning and tumbling, other times just dropping down and I always
know, in the dreams, that they will hit the ground and I will die.
Creepy. I hope that thinking about this doesn't cause me to have a
scary elevator dream tonight.
