I'm terrified of dead animals. Stuffed dead animals, animals on the
side of the road, if it's a dead animal I'm scared of it. I first
thought that I might have a problem when I was eight years old. My
cousin, uncle and I were looking for a Christmas tree in the woods. We
had pulled over to the side of the road and were getting out of the
truck when my cousin told me to watch where I was stepping. I looked
down and there was a dead bulldog. It freaked me out. I didn't say
anything b/c I didn't want to get made fun of, but the whole time we
were looking for our tree I kept checking behind me knowing somehow it
was going to be there the nexttime I turned around.
My husband thinks it's so funny that I'm terrified of dead animals. I
don't. My dad used to hunt and would skin and clean the animals right
outside my bedroom window. He would then give the legs to our dogs. HE
then had the deer heads mounted and put in our dining room. I couldn't
walk through that dining room for years. If I went outside I was
constantly checking over my shoulder and watching where I stepped.
I've always thought that the dead animals would come back and get me.
I mean it's kind of funny. Dead zombie animals, but in all relity I'm
serious as a heart attack. Dead animals on the side of the road scare
me, so do ones in movies and on TV. If I'm trying to go to sleep and
there is a pile of dark laundry or something on the floor, I have to
get out of bed turn on the light and move them or cover them up with
something light colored b/c it makes me think of dead animals. I had
started crossing myself. I'm not Catholic, but I felt it was nessacary.
I'm just so terrified of dead animals. They are the scariest thing in
the world to me. (other than wild dogs...)
