Ever since an incident at the Houston Museum Of Fine Arts when I was
10, I have had a crippling fear of large statues. I'm a big guy
(6ft7in) and anything larger than me that looks human freaks me out! I
sweat, shake, feel sick to my stomach and nearly faint. Museums are
some of my favorite places to visit and I even have a degree in Art
History (mostly French Impressionism) but I will not go near any
exhibit that features figures or statues larger than 4 feet in height.
A highly embarrassing episode at the Lincoln Memorial in 1999 was my
low point! Am I alone here?
