I've seen this on psychologically recognized phobias as pedophobia. I
didn't care for children when I was a child (we moved a lot, and I got
picked on in every new school).
As a young woman when I wasn't eager and anxious to have a child, and
babies always did leave me cold, the general "accusation" was "Why
don't you want to have a baby? Don't you like kids?", and everybody
and their pet fish tried to show me about children. Well... it had the
opposite effect. They irritate me.
A number of years ago, I was temporarily disabled and walked with a
cane. I had children trip me, and their kids stand there and laugh
about it. <grrrr> These days, you could probably swear out an arrest
warrant using ADA and throwing "hate crime" on top of it, plus I can
now walk okay. Still, it seems that when children do anything -
meaning children, not teens - that nothing gets done. There parents
might get talked to, but if the parents don't care about it, nothing
will happen to that child. The police rarely will take action, or
catch it in time when children are abusing stray animals or engaging
in (minor) vandalism. I think it's about when I was tripped by these
unruly children that got it into a fear - and possibly an utter
dislike for little children. It seems that there is NOTHING anyone can
do with them.
