I have a fear of balloons only if they are NEAR me. If I see them at a
distance, or pictures of balloons, or hot air balloons that someone
can ride in, it's okay.

When I was a child, a balloon popped in my face, and I got part of the
balloon in the eye. It was painful when it happened, and painful to
have the piece of rubber removed from the eye (it got kind of "stuck"
from turning my eyes from side-to-side).
