Hello Jarvis,
I'm a documentary film-maker and writer based in Canada.
I found your Yahoo group on phobias in the course of research I'm dong for a documentary about unusual phobias.
I wonder if you can help me connect with people who are willing to talk about their unusual phobias and how it affects their daily lives?
I would like to talk to people about how the phobia affects them physically and emotionally. I'm looking for people that have extreme reactions to their phobia and have gone to great lengths to avoid what makes them fearful. For example, I've read about a woman who is so phobic of electricity that she wears rubber gloves and boots while opening the fridge.
I myself am phobic of the pitch black - for example, I can't bear to be in a room without some glimmer of light. So no cave
exploring or scuba diving for me!
If you could assist me in anyway - I would greatly appreciate it.
Do you think putting a posting on your group would garner responses?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Christine
