Hi I have the same exact thing and so does my mother and one of my
sisters.
We cannot talk about veins, but because we all know we hate them so
much when we get together we sometimes find it funny to start
hysterically screaming when we try to bring it up in a conversation.
It seems OK to speak about veis to them because we don't feel like
freaks so we can discuss our traumas.
I was explaining to my mother about someone who was addicted to heroin
and how they do it- it took me ages to exlain and I couldn't get the
sentence out for ages. I told her right then I am only going to say
this sentence once so listen. I said it and we both started screaming
and then we had to stop.
When my sister gets back from university we speak about it sometimes.
We both have exactly the same phobia of veins that are protruding and
ESPECIALLY the ones behind the knees. If I ever ever ever get one I
would chop off my leg and I would. I cannot bear to look behind there
if my leg is fully straightened. The leg has to be slightly bent at
the knee to check for veins, I'm glad there are none. I refused to
stand up at work for the fear or varicose veins and they would not
allow me a chair so I said I am leaving and I did.
I will never put pressure on any of my joints at any time because I'm
so frightened I will break a vein.
When I go out and I wear high heels I only dance for limited periods
in case the veins pop or break.
I can never say the word valve and thinking of them makes me rock back
and forth too and my eyebrows raise higher and higher my head leaning
forward until I stop thinking about it.
OK need to finish off quickly now- um I can never feel a pulse EVER. I
have only ever felt my pulse once this happened about well over 10
years ago I am 26 and if I ever ever ever felt my pulse or anyones I
think I would die I really do.
My boyfriend cannot touch me in bed when we're asleep he has learnt
where he can hug me and where he can't because I know exactly where
all my veins are and if anyone goes near them I start screaming
I have screamed on buses in shops anywhere I am if somebody comes by
my veins I go mental
THe worste thing I think ever that I can hardly write- so sorry if
this will upset anyone reading it. Is the veins that are on your temples,
I think I am going to cry now I have to go I am so glad I am not the
only one here with this
And if a doctor said the only way to cure it is to touch them I will
livewith it for the rest of my life
