I totally know what you mean about holes and clusters of holes, beehives, coral etc. I think it all fits in with my fear of grids, which is kind of similar to hole-clusters except they don't necessarily have to be embedded. The first time I remember realising how afraid I was of them was at primary school. In Britain we used to get free little bottles of milk at school (before Margaret Thatcher put a stop to it) and I remember aged about 9 being sent out to collect the crate from the school gate. The milk bottles were arranged on newspaper in the crate and it was horrific, I had to carry the crate and was shaking the whole time. When we took the bottles off the paper they left a sort of pattern (from the wet bottoms of the bottles) and the pattern was just as scary. I feared the milk crates from then onwards and just refused to go get the crate or touch it or look at it. I can't bear to look at crates even now, just thinking about one makes me shudder. Similarly I can't look at or walk over grids in pavements (like when you can see down into the sewers, or into cellars/basements). If I accidentally see one I think about dropping something really important down there like my engagement ring or something, and having to fish it out with my fingers and I have a mini panic attack. I also can't stand office-fans, the ones that move around, and have a grid covering. A moving grid is just not natural!! Another thing I am afraid of is Adam's Apples, but I found out my friend is too, so I think that's not too uncommon.
