Hi there,
I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.
This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here: http://un4.hostrim.com Where you can read the rest of this message as
web page.
Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:
http://unhcrlebanon.galaxy99.net/smile.html
For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example: The refugees
allege that UNHCR staff is selling most of the food items they are supposed to
be supplied.
"They aren't supplying sufficient food to us because they sell most of the food
items," they allege: http://allafrica.com/stories/200503140214.html
Here is another example: Burmese Refugees Withdraw Protest Against UNHCR
http://www.mizzima.com/archives/news-in-2005/news-in-april/12-April05-22.htm
"We make demonstration and fast because the UNHCR office in Cairo did nothing
for our problem..." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4440730.stm
Together we will build better world.
You could reach me fast via this form:

me, you can google for my name 'osam altaee'.

Dear Friends,
I noticed a few people from different ostomy groups
asking about places where they can meet other people
with ostomy.
Here is a great new site where people with ostomy from
around the world can meet, date, chat, even use their
video cameras to see each other.

Well I just got engaged! I can't believe it, just last year I was beginning to
think i would never meet anyone. I'm 25 already and I thought it was all over.
After some recommendations from a buddy I joined up here:
http://www.simplefuneasy.info/nzpc and after 2 weeks I was already meeting up
with a beauty. Well, 14 months later and where still together and planning our
marriage for later this year =)
Hi fellow ostomates,
As you know, there are quite a few great ostomy support groups out there, like
this one, available to our "community" that serve an important function in our
lives.
However, I believe there is need for something a little "specialized" too...
I'd like to invite you to take a look at a new Yahoo group that I recently
created that may be of interest to you. It's strictly for adults and will not
be to everyone's interest but at least you know it's available.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ostomates_cybersex_club/
If you are interested and decide to join, I look forward to seeing you there.
If not, pardon this posting and thanks for your time!
Cheers,
Brian

Hello to everyone at The UK Stoma club.
My name is Kerry Deane, I am 28 years old, Married and have 2
children.
I live in Kent.
I had my ileostomy surgery done last September (2004)
My children chose the name "Stinky" for my stoma and it fits rather
well I think :-)
Here is a shortned version of why I had to have my Stoma and to
also introduce myself to you all.
( IT IS STILL A VERY LONG MESSAGE TO READ SO I APOLOGISE TO YOU ALL
PRIOR TO YOU READING IT)
I had been going out with my husband for a couple of months before
all my problems started.
I thought when I became ill it would have made him run a mile but
thankfully it was the opposite he has been an angel and has been
there and supported me every step of the way ,In a few months it
will be 13 years since we met.
My problems all started back in 1992, when I was 16 years old my
Appendix's burst which lead to peritonitis and my intestines going
in to shock.
6 months post op I started having more problems going to the loo
this progressed and in the end I was lucky if I could manage to go
every 5-6 weeks.
I used to drink litres of picolax along with so many other laxatives
no matter what I did it just wouldn't help.
Things then became very dangerous as I was literally being poisoned
by the toxins in my body.
The problems with my bowels also caused me major problems gynae
wise, after many more operations there was no choice but to give me
a Hysterecomy when Iwas 24.
All the Adhesions (Scar tissue )from the operations and the trauma
caused from repeated surgery, caused me to have regular full
bowel obstructions. Roughly every 3- 4 months or so.
I had so many emergency operations from the obstructions and
where my bowel kept stopping and starting all the nerves and muscles
in my colon/rectum stopped working.
They tried everything possible to try and re train and get them
working as they should but it made no difference.
Then to make matters worse in Oct 2003 they found 2 cancerous
growths in my rectum.
I was terrified as Colorectal cancer runs in my family my Dad was
the 5th
person from his side of the family to die from the diease, luckily
for me they found mine in the early stages.
To date I have had over 25 Major operations and HOPEFULLY my final
operation will be when I have the last stage done later this year to
remove the last 8 inches of colon and my rectum.
I have to wait 6 months or so before they can do the final stage.
As my surgeon wants me to get stronger as I have lost over 4 stone
in weight in a short period of time.
I had last Christams and New year in hospital with all the repeated
surgery in the past it has left my abdominal wall weak so I was
unlucky enough to develope a large Peristomal Hernia.
Because the hole was big lots of my intestines came through and was
stuck to my abdominal wall .
My surgeon had to use a new piece of intestine as my 1st stoma had
doubled up on its self and stopped working completley.
I am really scared about my next operation as my Surgeon has already
pre warned me and my husband about the risks.
He said I might end up with a Urostomy as I have had preivous
surgery on my bladder and with all the Adhesions there is a high
possibility he may accidently nick my bladder or nick something
else.
As the Adhesions are covering nigh on all of my abdominal cavity.
Each time they go in they do try and divide as much of the Adhesions
as they can.
They have also tried to use a barrier but I have been told I have
Cohesive Adhesions ,basically as soon as they remove them they come
back thicker and dender than before.
I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had their
colon/rectum fully removed and also anyone else who would like to
reply or get in touch with me.
If I can be of any help or if someone else might be facing some of
what I have been through then please just get in touch.
I have been a member of an Adhesion group for a few years now so if
I can offer any advice or help then please just ask.
Thank you so much for listening to me and for giving me the chance
to get some of my worries off my chest.
Best Wishes
Kerry Deane (ladykmd)
Hi All and Happy Monday To all,
First of all, please know if I ever bothered any of you with my
Daily or weekly greetings, I am truly sorry. All I was trying to do
was to start the day off with a smile. This has been a fantastic
group and I have enjoyed getting to know each of you and I thank you
for allowing me to be a part of this group. My friends, my life has
changed. Recently, my Mother has retired from Her job and She and
my Father are not fond of me being on this computer all the time.
If I was not in this wheelchair and did not depend on my parents for
activites of daily living, then I would not be living here to start
with but, I truly need their assistance and since I am under their
roof, I must do as they have asked and get out of as many groups as
I can. Please know I don't want to go. This is just something I
need to do. If anyone wants to contact me, you can reach me at
MNDCHAP@.... It would be great to keep in touch. If my
situation changes with your approval, I would love to come back here
with you all but, for now, I must go. I will miss you all. Have a
great Summer everyone. Sincerely, Dawn
