Well, my wife left 4 days after my return home from my colostomy, 2 weeks before christmas, just over 2 years ago.............. almost did myself in......... I had some amatriptoline from a previous op to aid with pain relief (spelt wrong probably) which I took far too much of but it saved me (numbed the pain enough) till I could get professional help........... I too felt the same as you - completely miserable and sorry for myself, rejected and very very angry!......
Who would want a middle aged cuddly man who poos into a plastic sack attached to his side with a massive scare (14") down the middle of his stomach and farts at random............ good catch eh?
............... 2 years on......... I have found a wonderful woman who accepts me bag and all!
Breaking the news that I had a
bag was tough......"let's just wait till the conversation get round to it........." Yes that was tough. I the end it turned out that I had built a mountain out of a mole hill! I was lucky!
I hope this little story helps a little

Hi All
Havent been in touch with this site for long time. Feel pretty lousy
this Valentine night. Just found out this week that my hubby has
another woman.......after 25 years of marrige.
Had my iliostomy five years ago. He told me then it didnt make any
difference he would love me anyway. So much for that!!!!!
Hes leaving to move in with her and i will be left alone. Who will
want me now.....bad
enough being middle aged but having an iliostomy
too.
Has anyone been in the same situation as me and met someone new....god
knows im not ready for that yet but when the time comes what do i do??
At what stage do you mention that you have a stoma etc. And i have so
many scars, feel so ugly. So many younger prettier NORMAL women out
there.
If anyone has any advice please let me know
Thanks
