Hi, my name is Shelli. My mother was diagnosed with rectal cancer
earlier this year and had colonostomy surgery over 2 weeks ago.

She is recuperating, having some difficulties and worried about her
future.

Some issues that she really needs help with are:

Soreness on her bottom area from surgery
"Gas" noises from her bag (Is there a bag that doesn't make as much
noise?)
The best way to disgard the waste and clean the bag when necessary
How do you empty your bag when away from home? Do you empty into a
Ziplock type bag; a cup; the toilet? How?
And, what type of products do you take with you when you are away
from home (cleaners, squirt bottle, etc.)

Thank you so much for all your help. I am planning on getting her
involved with the Ostomy Association in our area, but they only meet
once a month.
