RE: [UK Ostomy Support ] Blood from defunct rectum

It could just be an internal pile, try not to worry till you are checked over, this happened to me and it was nothing just a small tear!!!

Subject: [UK Ostomy Support ] Blood from defunct rectum

Hi, I have an ileostomy which was done just over 3 years ago. I've
often
passed mucous now and then, nothing to worry about. Today for the
first time
I passed fresh blood from my rectum, I have an appointment next
Wednesday
anyway, so am not going to phone them unless it happens again before
then,
but I was wondering, I know this could mean that I have Crohns back
again,
but could there be any other reason. I'm not asking for diagnosis
here, I'm
just trying to put my mind at ease, hoping that it could be
something else
and not Crohns. I know there's always been a chance I shall get it
back
again, but have always hoped that I could keep going in remission.
Any
feedback would be gratefully received.
Michele
