Re: [UK Ostomy Support ] Rectal Discharge

Hi Wayne

I had 2 yeas of the same problem and was told that because I still had a
portion of working colon I could expect a discharge of mucus

I had this discharge about once a week but felt like I needed the toilet
much more often. It was worse if I was excreting myself

During the time that I still had a back passage I was given 2 Colonoscopy to
make sure all was ok with the remaining stomp

2002 I had the remainder of the colon and rectum removed still sometimes
have the feeling of needing the toilet

I think you should inform your stoma nurse of your problem as the disease
(ulcerative colitis in my case) reappeared in the remaining part of my colon

Yours ian
