Established by the Association of Radical Midwives (www.midwifery.org.uk) , which campaigns for woman-centred maternity care in the UK.

The UK Midwifery mailing list was set up in April 1999, to discuss midwifery and maternity care. Open to midwives, students, mothers, and anyone interested in improving maternity services in UK.

If you are having difficulty in getting the kind of maternity care you want, please join the list and post your query. You will get help and advice from midwives and mothers, and possibly from a midwife in your area.

Note that all applications to join the group must be approved. Please explain what your interest in midwifery is when you apply - eg whether you are a midwife, trainee, other health professional or parent.
All postings from new members are moderated, so you need to allow 24 hours for the moderators to check your messages before they will appear on the group.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. This list is busy. If you receive individual emails, there will often be several hundred per week. Choose the Daily Digest if you will not be able to manage this, or choose the 'Web Only' option and read your emails on this website.
When you join the list, and choose your membership settings and mail delivery options, if you receive individual messages then make sure you set the 'mail format' to: Traditional
