My name is Gary, I'm an addict. I'm new to this group. This is a
brand new year & I need to
share with you the miracles that have taken place in my life. The
miracles are taking place one day at a time in my life. I suffered a
massive stroke at my bottom. That was September 91 Nine months later
I had my first
epileptic seizure. That was June of 92. From that point I've tried
every new anticonvulsant that came out with no relief from my daily
seizures. In November of 01 my neurologist & I started talking about
this new therapy. It's called a vagus nerve stimulator implant. He
Oked me to see the neurosurgeon that would implant me. On 01/07/02 I
was implanted. It was turned on 01/29/02 Still nothing was helping
with the daily seizures. In June he suggested I take transene, a mild
tranquilizer at bedtime. I took them as prescribed & never thought
about taking them in any other way. Mid August I was waking up in the
morning not sore on my right side, my jaw wasn't sore, my neck didn't
feel as though someone wrung it out. I've been seizure free from mid
August as my seizure log shows! It gets better. I have hep C & I took
interferon for three months, then my hep c relapsed because I took an
antibiotic without the ok of my doctor. I was put back on interferon
for six months & don't you know the same thing happened. I'm a
creature of habit. I was then put on interferon & ribaviron for 14
months. On the 12th of last month I went to see my doctor for my 33
month hep c test. On the 20th I was told that my hepc count in my
system is a minus nine digit number or undetectable, & he said, "at
this point I can call you 95% cured. If in another two years your
numbers stay the same I will ask you to submit to another liver
byopsy. If at that time there is no more scaring on the liver then I
will call you 100% cured." As I say the little miracles are happening
in my life very fast but not over
whelming.
