James, I am trying to understand what you are saying here. Are you saying that
Bill and Bob did not use the word higher power or a God of a person's
understanding If that was not our founders who did it then?? I guess I am once
again unsure what you mean that God was king in 1935. Isn't God still around?
Are you saying that a spiritual awakening can only be done if you believe in
Jesus and that is what you mean by 'watering' down the program??

If indeed you are talking about Jesus, does not history show us that Jesus was
not born in the 12 month. I continue to honor your road to God but this
fellowship is a world fellowship and everyone has a right to their own
understanding of god which gives them a spiriual awakening.

What happened to "ME" is the first 11 steps caused the RESULT I found in the
12Th. To "ME" this means I carry the message of THE SPIRITUAL AWAKENING. AA in
it's origins was meant to return and to strengthen our GOD concept and FAITH.
Each step manufactured an open forum about ME,,,,my relationship with ME,,,,the
end result was the CLEANING OF MY HOUSE, and at that point, I found GOD. He
happened to be there right along,, however I had to clean house first. My
'spiritual awakening' was to find that there is GOD,,, and no longer a ME. It
has been a blessing that I no longer have to be in charge, that I no longer have
to suffer, that I no longer choose to deny the existence of Him.

I must remember how Bill and Bob and Ebby felt. How the first 100 felt. God was
KING in 1935 and the 'program' was developed around this concept. I DO know that
over the years individuals have found the need to change this 'concept' And I
also know that those that have changed and embraced 'other' concepts, are not
working The Program as designed. Be that as it may.

I am one of those that feels that the WHEEL WORKS FINE,, why change it, unless
it's to be SPECIAL, or have the need to shave the meaning of the 12 steps to
suit ones personal needs and behaviors.
I am not popular in AA, and certainly not popular in NA. HOWEVER it's THEIR lack
of approval of my freedoms and my base understanding of the Basic Text of AA.
Much like the World,, there is the same war in recovery over GOD. I don't have
to fight, I have the TRUTH.
I will continue to share my E.S.&H. which indeed IS the 12Th step. I will
continue to share what happened to ME, in my trudge of the road to happy
destiny. This, the 12Th month, is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ,
and if you don't do God why do Christmas?

May we ALL find PEACE on a daily basis if only for a moment.
