My Daughter Tyler   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #12 of 124 |
My daughter Tyler was born 10/30/1997. Before she was born, she was
diagnosed as a mosaic trisomy 9. They told me she would never be
able to function on her own. She is almost 6 now. She is in public
school. She is a little slow in motor skills, but we have her in
gymnastics and riding horses. She did not have hardly any speech. But
last year a friend told us about a acupuncturist in Houston, Texas
and we have been taking her down there for a year. She now says MAMA,
DADA, Nanny, PawPAw, MEME, POPPA, DOC, her sister name, AMY, BUBBA,
and several friends names. The school has her going into kindergarten
for 30 mins a day. I do not know if this will help anyone else but
the treatments and stimuli from other activities have help
tremendously. I would highly recommend if you have an equestian
therepy center, that you take your children there. It has really made
a difference in TYler. I hope this will help anyone else in this
situation. Tyler is my miracle since the doctors told me she would
die at birth. Thanks for listening.
