This group is for the support of CPMs in Indiana. In Indiana, CPMs can be charged with practicing medicine and practicing midwifery without a license, both felony charges. All midwives in Indiana are vulnerable to legal action against them until the midwifery laws are changed. This group is for the discussion of legislation in Indiana and working on getting a midwifery licensure bill passed in 2009. We will also list midwifery benefits, hearings, rallies, fundraisers, petition drives, letter writing campaigns and other means of midwifery support. Membership will be approved by me in order that I know who is on the list, but anyone who is interested in midwifery legislation will be approved.
