This is a good question. I can't really comment because it is an area that I have not yet researched via TT methods.
I can say that through education and better drugs, it may be possible to, at least, slow down its insidious march.
I can comment, although it will be stating the obvious, that aids will run its course, infecting those whose sexual behavior invites infection and spare those who do not. Those who practice safe sex, or are with uninfected partners, have no reason to be worried.
Others who are stupid enough to use contaminated drug needles, for example, will continue to become infected and a danger to those they sexually come into contact with. The simple shame is that most of the transmissions of HIV/Aids is avoidable.
