Re: [Thoracic Outlet Syndrome] doctor

Liz, I am sorry you did not get a response, that has happened to me a couple
of times.
I have no idea about Kentucky! I am on pain meds for my back, 2 failed back
surgeries, back no fused etc. but I have not asked about the TOS. In fact, I
did not even know I had it until I casually mentioned the arms and hands, the
swelling, pain, the electrical current or whatever, and he diagnosed me right
away and then followed with tests. Because of the nature of my back, rods,
gap in spine etc. they would not even let me go to PT for fear of hurting my
spine more than it is..I am due to have surgery 12/07, not sure how I feel
about that after all of the surgeries I have had but I do trust them...I
would suggest that you see a Thoracic Neurologist, Pain Management Center or
something along those lines. Most MD do not know or understand TOS, do not
even diagnose it properly so that would be my suggestion.
I hope this helps as I know to well how it feels to be looked at by a MD and
be ignored so to speak..
Good luck and keep me posted.
Kathy
