Hi my name is Pat
Let me start with my inital problem: I injuried both shoulders at work.
My right one in '96, had surgery for rotator cuff in '97. Then
reinjuried it and my left in '02, had two surgeries on it in '03. The
last surgery being a resection of the discal clavicle. My OS removed
about an inch or so of my collar bone. Since then I have had problems
that according to him are consistant w/TOS. I haven't had any luck
finding anyone who has been in a simular situation. I hope someone in
here can help me out.
OK, since my surgery I have experienced my arm (from shoulder to
figuretips)go numb. It does this when walking, laying down in pretty
much any position, tingling, pain, and (this is the one I'm really
concerned about) pressure against my throat. This occurs when I turn my
head, bend forward, lay down. It also is getting harder to swallow at
times.
My injuries occurred at work so are worker comp. insures. Major
problems if any of you have been there. Workers comp. doesn't want to
send me to see a Vascular surgeon, which my OS wants me to see. Let me
restate that, they won't cover it. Yes, I do have an attorney handling
the wc stuff. That's one of the reasons, I'm sure, they are putting up
roadblocks at every turn.
I have been trying to learn as much about this condition. I sure hope I
have come to the right place. I would appreciate any info anyone can
share with me.
I'm sorry to be so long winded. I tried to make it as brief as
possible. I don't want to bore you too bad tonight.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Take care all and have a great weekend.

Pat in TN

I don't understand why your M.D. said he was not qualified to discuss this with you; unless he cannot read xrays and does not know what else to say. Why don't...

I was not a surgical candidate but I was told that you can have scar tissue build up from the surgery. I think this is a normal result of the surgery. You...
